Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Velocity (EMG/NCV) Testing

Used to help diagnose diseases of the muscles, and nerves of the spine and extremities, this test is available to our patients at our Physical Rehabilitation offices at 30 Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre, 3840 Veterans Memorial Highway in Bohemia, and 123 Maple Avenue in Cedarhurst.

Performed by our skilled physiatrists, Steven Adler or Elizabeth Efthimiou, this 60-minute test utilizes electrical stimulation of nerves and muscles. The test poses no significant risk to the patient and is often the best approach to diagnosing sciatica, neuropathies, myopathies, myasthenia gravis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve entrapments.
