Rehabilitation Therapists

The Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group includes an in-house team of physical and occupational therapists, including a certified hand therapist (CHT).


Physical Therapists

James Egan, PT
Jim graduated from Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. His experience has been concentrated in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine physical therapy. Jim has attended numerous continuing education courses in manual therapy, sports medicine, and in the treatment of shoulder disorders. In addition, he hosted a shoulder physical therapy symposium for the Long Island Shoulder Institute. He is a member of the Orthopedic section and Sports Physical Therapy section of the American Physical Therapy Association. Jim is the Clinical Manager of Orlin & Cohen's four rehabilitation centers.

Francesco Policaro, DPT
Frank graduated in 2005 from the New York Institute of Technology with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He is an Active Release Technique full body certified therapist and is also in the Ironman Provider Network. Frank is the Clinical Supervisor of our Rockville Centre office, and is currently pursuing his Orthopedic Certified Specialty.

Jared Kipnis, DPT
Jared graduated in 2006 from SUNY at Stony Brook with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His advanced continuing education includes foot/ankle mechanics, joint mobilization, vertigo, back education and pulmonary care. He has completed course work for the certified orthopedic manual therapy certification from the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.

Kelly DeRuvo, DPT
After completing her Doctorate from Simmons College in Boston, Kelly returned to Long Island and she has worked in many different physical therapy settings before joining our staff at Orlin & Cohen. Kelly has a very strong belief in evidence based practice leading her to take many manual courses including spinal manipulaution.

Heather Sabatino, MPT
Heather graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2004 with her Masters in Physical Therapy. She has been an asset to our rehabilitation team since that time. Heather continues to pursue courses in various aspects of orthopedics including foot and ankle biomechanics and muscle energy/strain counter strain.

Kathy Graustein, PT
Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977. Her continuing education courses include total knee replacements, hip arthroscopy and total hip replacements, treatment and management of the foot and ankle and the McKenzie approach to cervical and lumbar disorders. In addition to her orthopedic experience, she has worked in acute, sub-acute and home-care settings. Kathy has over 20 years' experience, enjoying the past 16 years with the Orlin & Cohen practice and is the Clinical Supervisor of our Cedarhurst Office located in the Five Towns of Nassau County, Long Island.

Brian Musso, PT
Brian graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. His experience has been concentrated in Outpatient Orthopedics and Sports Physical Therapy and he has attended continuing courses in manual therapy, knee and treatment of shoulder disorders. Brian joined the Massapequa office in 2003.

Jill Byrnes, PT
Jill graduated from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY in 1994. Her experience has been in Outpatient Orthopedics and she has attended many continuing education courses in manual therapy and treatment for knee and shoulder disorders. Jill has worked in the Massapequa office since 2003.

Todd Bornfriend, PT
Todd received his Physical Therapy degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1994. He has worked exclusively in outpatient orthopedics and now brings his experience and passion for this patient population to Orlin & Cohen. He continues to take courses on the evaluation and treatment of extremity and spinal disorders.


Occupational/Hand Therapists

Rita Ingram, OTR/L, CHT
Rita graduated in 1997 from CUNY York College with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. From 1997-2004, she worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus specializing in burn and hand rehab both in outpatient and inpatient settings, and has been with Orlin & Cohen since 2004. She obtained the designation of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2003, and provides custom hand splints/orthoses to patients requiring these devices.


Physical Therapy Assistants and Athletic Trainers

Doris Willis, PTA
Doris graduated from Nassau Community College in 1994 from the Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program. Doris has 19 years of experience in which she has worked in the areas of pediatrics, in-patient care, orthopedics and sports rehab. Her manual therapy experience includes myofascial release, massage and muscle energy techniques.

Claire Casatelli, PTA
Claire graduated from Nassau Community College in 1992 from the Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program. Claire's experience includes working in acute care, acute and sub-acute rehab, inpatient orthopedics, pediatric outpatient and home care settings. Claire is currently working toward completing Kinesio Taping Certification.

Mary Jane Taddeo, PTA
Mary Jane graduated from Laguardia Community College in 1992 from the Applied Science/ Physical Therapy Assistant program. She has 18 years of experience in hospital, nursing home and outpatient orthopedic rehab settings. She is also certified in myofascial trigger point technique therapy.

Lisa Buttacavoli PTA, CPT
Lisa obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology from SUNY Albany in 1996, and then received her degree in Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program from Nassau Community College 2000. Lisa is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer, and has experience in the field of orthopedics with continuing education classes in post-surgical rehabilitation of the shoulder, hips, knees, ankles, and lumbar spine.

Rita Pagnotta, PTA
Rita graduated with an Associate's Degree from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Suffolk Community College in 1996. Rita has 15 years of experience and has worked in various clinical settings including acute care, pediatrics, long term care and orthopedics. Rita joined the Orlin & Cohen staff in 2007 and is currently employed in our Bohemia office.

Kamila Ketcham, PTA
Kamila graduated in 1988 with an Associate's Degree from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Suffolk Community College. After graduation, Kamila worked for five years in acute rehab, but has worked in orthopedic outpatient rehabilitation thereafter.

Roberta Seltzer, PTA
Roberta graduated in 1996 with an Associate's Degree from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Nassau Community College. Roberta has been an asset to our practice since 1998. Roberta's experience includes aquatic therapy, sports related injuries, myofascial release and strain/counter strain.

Kerry Mogavero, PTA
Kerry graduated in 2001 with an AAS in Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program from Nassau Community College. Kerry's continuing education consists of Personal Trainer/Health Fitness Instructor Certificate Program at Hofstra University, Multiple Sclerosis, Shoulder and Elbow, Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Hand and Wrist, challenges in the management of Parkinson's disease, and the Mckenzie Method (Evaluation and Treatment of the Lumbar Spine) and Minimally Invasive Total Knee Arthoplasty.

Lisa Gleason, PTA
Lisa graduated from Nassau Community College in 2004 from the Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program. Lisa has experience in the treatment and management of post-surgical orthopedic conditions with continuing education classes in knee replacement, hip arthroscopy, rotator cuff, lumbar spine and the foot/ ankle complex.

Michael Schmid, PTA
Michael graduated from the New York Institute of Technology with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. Michael's clinical experience has centered on orthopedic outpatient settings.

Judyanne Donohue, ATC
Judyanne graduated from the University of Vermont in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. Judyanne has a National Athletic Trainers Association certification, and is a New York State licensed athletic trainer. She has extensive experience with high school athletic programs as well as being on the medical staff of the New York and Long Island Marathons.
