Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group Welcomes Two New Spine Surgeons

Merrick, NY (June 26, 2019) – Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group, Long Island’s leading orthopedic practice, is pleased to announce the appointment of Drs. Mark Stephen and Brian Morelli, specialists of the spine, neck and back, who will see patients in the Bohemia and Smithtown offices of Orlin & Cohen.

Mark Stephen, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained spine specialist who has extensive training in a variety of spine and orthopedic areas, including the preservation of spine motion, cervical artificial disc replacement, and treatment of pediatric and adult spinal deformities. He also taught a course on minimally invasive spine procedures. Before joining Orlin & Cohen, Dr. Stephen was an assistant professor in the department of orthopedics and director of the Spine and Scoliosis Center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY.

Brian N. Morelli, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained spine specialist who has written, researched, and presented on a variety of orthopedic topics, including low-level fall spinal fractures in older patients, a review of Cauda Equina Syndrome, spinal implants, and recovery outcomes of obese vs. non-obese patients. Before joining Orlin & Cohen, Dr. Morelli was an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery in the department of general orthopedics & spine surgery at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY.
