About Dr. Sonnenfeld
Dr. Sonnenfeld is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic sports medicine, shoulder and elbow surgeon specializing in arthroscopic and open surgery in adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Sonnenfeld is a former athlete who competed at the national level in baseball. He completed his residency training at Columbia University Medical Center, where he was awarded the Ira Wolfe Award for Excellence in Sports Medicine Research. Following residency, Dr. Sonnenfeld completed a fellowship in sports medicine, shoulder and elbow surgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC. While there, he served as a team physician for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, MiLB Charlotte Knights and Davidson College.
