When I learned I had torn my right ACL, I was understandably anxious about what lay ahead - the surgery, the recovery, and the long road back to an active life. What followed, however, was an experience defined by exceptional care, professionalism, and genuine compassion at every step of the process. I am grateful to share my story in hopes that it reflects the outstanding team at Orlin and Cohen. Dr. Gregory Lieberman - Orthopedic Surgeon My journey began with Dr. Gregory Lieberman, my orthopedic surgeon, who performed my ACL repair surgery. From our very first consultation, Dr. Lieberman took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, walking me through each step in a way that was clear and reassuring. He answered every question I had with patience and expertise, which gave me the confidence I needed going into the operating room. The surgery was a success, and his skill and professionalism set the foundation for my recovery. Henryk Kielsznia - Physical Therapist If there is one person I could single out as truly transformative in my recovery, it is Henryk Kielsznia. From our very first session together, it was clear that Henryk is not just a skilled physical therapist - he is someone who genuinely cares about the people he works with. His commitment to my rehabilitation went above and beyond what I could have ever expected. What immediately distinguished Henryk was his deep expertise and his ability to translate that knowledge into a program that was specifically tailored to me. He never applied a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, he took the time to truly understand where I was in my recovery at each visit - physically and mentally - and he adjusted my program accordingly. When I was progressing well, he pushed me further. When I needed more time to heal, he had the wisdom and patience to recognize that too. That kind of thoughtful, individualized care is rare, and it made all the difference. Beyond his clinical skill, Henryk has an incredible ability to motivate. There were moments during my recovery when the process felt overwhelming - when the progress seemed slow and the goal of returning to an active life felt distant. In those moments, Henryk was there with the right words, the right perspective, and an unwavering belief in my ability to get through it. He celebrated my wins with me and kept me focused when setbacks threatened my confidence. His encouragement never felt hollow or generic - it felt personal, because it was. Henryk's professionalism, compassion, and dedication are a true reflection of what exceptional patient care looks like. I cannot overstate how much of an impact he has had on my recovery and my overall outlook. He is, without question, one of the most outstanding healthcare professionals I have ever had the privilege of working with, and I am deeply grateful for everything he has done for me. Nicholas Baez — Rehabilitation Aide Nicholas Baez was a consistent, professional, knowledgeable, and always brought a warm, friendly energy that made even the more challenging sessions more manageable. He demonstrated a clear understanding of the rehabilitation process and supported my work with attentiveness and care. His positive attitude and helpfulness made a real difference in my experience. Barbara Rudloff — Physical Therapist Barbara Rudloff’s clinical knowledge is exceptional. She has a gift for breaking down complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand, which helped me feel more informed and in control of my own recovery. Rather than simply guiding me through exercises, she took the time to explain the purpose and that understanding gave me a deeper sense of investment in my own healing process. What truly set Barbara apart was her relatability. Recovering from ACL surgery is as much an emotional journey as it is a physical one, and there were days when discouragement crept in. Barbara had an uncanny ability to read the room. Without missing a beat, she would shift the conversation, share a grounding perspective, or simply acknowledge how hard the process is - and somehow, that was exactly what I needed. She never minimized the struggle, but she always helped me see past it. Barbara's professionalism, compassion, and ability to connect on a human level made her an invaluable part of my recovery. I am truly grateful for the care she provided and for the way she showed up for me - not just as a clinician, but as someone who genuinely wanted to see me succeed. Additional Recognition I would also like to thank the front desk staff at the Orlin & Cohen Lynbrook - Physical & Occupational Therapy location, whose friendly and efficient service made every visit seamless from the moment I walked through the door.
