I had total left knee replacement in January 20, 2026. I was transferred from HSS to Margaret Manning rehab and nursing in NYC. Unfortunately due to impending ice storm that shut down the city most of the rehab staff at Margaret Manning stayed home several days to avoid being stuck there. Sadly, so I did not get the post -surgical physical therapy I received previously when i had my right knee replacement . Friday, January 30th I left -went home to discover DEP in front of my building due to major water main break -causing NO HEAT NO WATER for the entire block -Apt was freezing -this condition continued several days a week for several weeks with only limited occasional heat . This had further negative effect on my post surgical range of motion -by March 11th the surgeon had me return to HSS for him to perform "manipulation procedure" - While under anesthesia to break apart the scar tissue they were only able to get my knee 100 degree rotation. The next day I returned to Fresh Meadows location of Advanced Sports /Orlin & Cohen . Paul Kropas assigned me to Landon Twine and Matthew Calderon, I was BLESSED!!! . EVERYONE including floor staff and other therapists knew I was really scared but everyone was supportive and encouraging. My heartfelt sincere THANKS for their combined efforts - This Friday, July 10 was my final visit after accomplishing range of motion 110 degrees - 10 degrees BEYOND what the surgeon achieved while I was under sedation. I am Grateful to Landon and everyone at that facility for their combined efforts enabled me to surpass BEYOND the range that the surgeon achieved. I have successfully attended this facility in the past; recommending them and bringing my mother, sister and heartily recommending them to others - Thanks to them I will continue to give them my highest accolades and referral.
