At the end of January 2025, I was playing volleyball when I rolled my ankle severely/ran on it at the same time. I had been unable to put any pressure on it, and my foot was resting at a very odd angle so I had decided to immediately decided to go to the hospital. After going to the hospital, having an MRI done, and having a new patient visit with Dr. Feder, I was diagnosed with 3 partially torn ligaments. 2 weeks after this diagnosis, I also developed 3 blood clots in my calf & knee. By the end of March 2025, I was finally cleared to start physical therapy. As soon as I was cleared, I went to Orlin and Cohen's Occupational & Physical Therapy department in the Bohemia office. There I worked with Danielle, Rosario, Patrick, and a few of the other PT, DPT, and PTAs for a little over 6 months. Within two to three weeks they had me off my scooter, and using crutches. Over the next two months they had me transition from two crutches, to one crutch, to just my own to feet to support myself. It is now the first week of October 2025 and I have been cleared to go back to all physical activity with zero restrictions. I am beyond grateful for all the time and work they all put in to help me recover fully! They are all extremely professional, supportive during the recovery process, and amazing at their jobs! They pushed me the perfect amount to help me along with my recovery. I would gladly come back again if I ever need to go through Therapy again!
