I had shoulder surgery 3/19/2021 with Dr. Mait. I had a nasty labral tear on my right side. I am currently 1 year post op and from my very first visit with Dr. Mait I never felt rushed. Everything was explained to me in great detail as far as the extent of my injury and my options. From day one I felt I was in trustworthy hands. I had a labral repair done on my left shoulder 3 years ago and never felt as good as I did post op this time around. I was in pain longer and had to take pain medication for a longer period of time with the left shoulder. Whereas with my right I didn’t need the medication past the first week. My right shoulder had much more damage to it than my left, so to feel as good as I do I believe is just a testament to having a really great surgeon. I cannot speak enough to Dr. Mait’s professionalism and attentiveness. I also ft much more mobile a lot sooner after surgery than I ever expected. I’m 27 and have done martial arts for years, so I have seen my fair share of orthopedic doctors. I never felt I was truly taken care of until going to Orlin & Cohen. With the kind of care I’ve received, I feel like I have made the best recovery outcome possible. I honestly feel pretty close if not 100% again. My life has resumed to normal with no limitations and am on track to be able to pursue my dream job, which is very physical and requires push-ups for the physical test, which was obviously daunting given my injury. Today, I can do them without pain. I also can’t speak well enough to Orlin & Cohen’s physical therapist. I have gone to physical therapist facilities where I’m given the same exercises to do for months and passed off to an aid. At Orlin & Cohen’s physical therapy practice I feel much more attended to. I work directly with my PT, Todd each time and am given much more extensive exercises to do than the basic 5 I’ve received in the past, which I believe has attributed to my mobility thus far. I am so incredibly thankful to have found a doctor I can trust and a physical therapy team that I know will have me on the best track to recovery going forward. The additional staff at Orlin & Cohen is also impeccable. I cannot recommend them or their physical therapy division enough.
