I met Dr Garofolo in early July. He was very nice and understanding. After an MRI confirmed that I had a partially torn meniscus and a number of "floaty stuff" causing the pain in my knee. Dr Garofolo explained that surgery is the only option to fix my issues, but he reassured me that it would be done arthroscopically, as out patient surgery, so I would be in and out in 1 day. Surgery, on August 20, 2025, went very well and my recovery is even better. Starting with the very next day, my pain was almost non-existent. I just had discomfort and as I carefully walked on my leg, the discomfort grew less and less. I just had my 4 week follow up with Dr. Garofolo and we are both extremely pleased with my recovery. I am able to walk 1-2 miles, a little slower but with no pain. My PT is going well and by the time of my next follow up in another 4 weeks, I will be back up to my usual 2-4 miles 3 or 4 days a week. I am very happy with my choice of Orlin & Cohen and especially my choice of Dr Garofolo as my surgeon. Thank you Dr. G for making this experience as easy as it has been.
