My shoulder was damaged as a result of a car accident about 9 months before my surgery with Dr Rothfeld. I was terrified to go under the knife, and was told by many people who have had a similar operation that they suffered from extreme pain for a long time afterward. Prior to my surgery, Dr Rothfeld explained in detail what I should expect and was very comforting. He took his time assuaging my fears. He was friendly, easy-going, compassionate, informative, and never pushed surgery- he just told me what I needed to know, answered endless questions, and gave me time to make up my own mind. Dr Rothfeld advised me that this arthroscopic surgery wouldn't be very painful, and of course I didn't believe him for a minute because of what I had heard, but I finally decided to proceed anyway, and was very anxious about it. I have to admit that the experience was interesting, rather than frightening. Dr Rothfeld is a very skilled surgeon, and he was correct- I had very little pain! I took medication for one day only, and after that I didn't need any painkillers. I healed pretty quickly, and after some PT I am almost back to a completely healthy shoulder. I have recommended Dr Rothfeld to a friend, and she is very happy with his care as well. Thank you, Dr Rothfeld!
