Barbara Feehan, PT
Barbara received her physical therapy master’s degree from Daemen College in 2000. She has over 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and has years of experience in acute and subacute inpatient rehabilitation and home care. In 2017, Barbara received her Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation Rockblade certification. Barbara has taken many continuing education courses including manual therapy for the neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee, ankle and foot.
Matthew Helleckson, PT, DPT, ATC
Matthew graduated from Touro College in Bayshore, NY in 2017. His background began as a certified athletic trainer in NC where he treated high school athletes with sports injuries. He then came to NY to further his education and received his doctorate in physical therapy and becoming licensed physical therapist. His experience ranges from sports medicine to outpatient orthopedics. Matthew plans on furthering his education and manual therapy skills and becoming a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through Maitland-Australian Approach. In his free time Matt enjoys being outdoors, working on cars, and vintage stereo equipment.
Karen Prikios, PTA
Karen worked as an early childhood development teacher and was certified as a group fitness instructor before graduating from Suffolk Community College's physical therapist assistant program in 2012. Karen began her career working in an inpatient head injury unit specializing in stroke rehab and other traumatic brain injuries. She also has experience working with pre- and postsurgical orthopedic conditions as well as cardiac and geriatric rehabilitation in both outpatient and subacute settings. She employs a variety of manual techniques including soft and deep tissue massage and myofascial release and is always improving her skills and knowledge by taking hands-on courses on a variety of topics including an intensive course on Functional Mobilization from the Institute of Physical Art and a Rocktape Cupping certification course. She has been with Orlin and Cohen since 2013
Rosario Riccabene, PTA
Rosario is a licensed physical therapist assistant with 22 years of experience and is working at Orlin & Cohen for the past three years. Rosario graduated from the Nassau Community College physical therapy assistant program in 1996. His experience includes working with orthopedic patients, sports rehab and also with geriatric patients. Rosario has attended continuing education classes focusing on the latest techniques for treating the spine, upper extremity and lower extremity injuries
James Battaglia, MA OTR/L, CHT
James received his Master of Arts in occupational therapy from New York University in 2001. During his training, he completed a specialty fieldwork rotation in hand rehabilitation at Bellevue Hospital Center. James started his career at Nassau University Medical Center, a level I trauma center, where he began working with hand and upper extremity injuries. Since that time, James has worked in both private practice and hospital-based outpatient settings. In 2006, James became certified in hand therapy by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and has worked primarily in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. In 2015, James completed his advanced graduate certification in healthcare management from Stony Brook University, and began his pursuit of a doctorate in education at Hofstra University. At this time James is working on completing his dissertation with a focus on the development of clinical decision-making in students and new graduates.
Jared Kipnis, PT, DPT, COMT, ART Provider, Fellow in Training
Clinical Supervisor Garden City & Woodbury
Dr. Jared Kipnis graduated from Stony Brook University in 2006 obtaining a doctorate in physical therapy and in January 2013 obtained the designation as a certified orthopedic manual therapist from the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). While specializing in spinal and joint mobilization/manipulation, he emphasizes the use of manual therapy and functional exercise as methods to effectively treat patients forming a cohesive team with the patient. He has been a lab assistant for MAPS where he demonstrates and instructs in hands-on techniques. In 2017, Dr. Kipnis became an active release techniques full body provider as well as receiving their certification in long tract nerve entrapment protocols. Dr. Kipnis is a fellow in training with the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars orthopedic manual therapy fellowship program where he will be obtaining the highest level of clinical training available to a physical therapist. Dr. Kipnis is the clinical supervisor for our Garden City and Woodbury physical therapy locations and sees patients in the Garden City clinic.
Meylin Amador, PTA
Meylin graduated from Nassau Community College in 2016 as a physical therapist assistant. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science with aspirations of obtaining her DPT in the near future. She began her clinical career working in an outpatient PT practice specializing in sports-related injuries and joined Orlin and Cohen in the summer of 2017. She has experience treating pre- and postsurgical orthopedic conditions, as well as traumatic and repetitive strain injuries. Certified in Rocktape Functional Movement Techniques and Blades, Meylin and has taken various continuing education courses based on exercise science and progression. In her spare time, Meylin enjoys hiking, running and taking fitness classes such as, CrossFit, yoga and dance fitness. She strives to utilize this knowledge to help her patients return to their fitness activity of choice after a successful rehabilitation. Pierre Dieudonne, PTA
Pierre graduated from Nassau Community College in 2015 as a physical therapist assistant. Since graduation, Pierre has worked in outpatient orthopedics where he has gained experience working with a multitude of different orthopedic conditions. Pierre also has experience working in aquatics and with geriatric gait and balance. Pierre is also Rocktape Functional Movement Techniques certified and is working towards more certifications to expand his knowledge base. Pierre's plans to return to the classroom to pursue the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Alicia Epstein, OTR/L, CHT
Alicia received her B.S. in occupational therapy from New York University in 1982. She then completed a specialty fieldwork at the Hospital for Special Surgery. After graduation, she gained experience working in hospitals, schools, outpatient facilities, treating neurologic, pediatric, acute and traumatic conditions. She has always had a passion for rehabilitation of the hand, pursing and obtaining her Hand Therapy Certification in 1996. She continued her education at Stony Brook University, completing a M.S. in health care policy and management. Throughout, Alicia steered her career towards hand rehab and eventually began exclusively treating only hand diseases and injuries. She has mentored numerous therapists over the years, sharing her love, knowledge and expertise of hand rehabilitation. She has lectured and presented with hand surgeons on various hand rehabilitation topics. She owned a private practice since 1993, joining Orlin and Cohen Spring 2018. In her free time, Alicia is passionate about Scuba diving and working with her two Shetland Sheepdogs in agility training.
Leslie A. Bernstein PT, DPT, LMT
Leslie is a graduate of Touro College, Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program and received her Bachelor of Arts, from Hunter College, with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Classical Studies. She also holds a license in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute, specializing in Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Shiatsu and Vestibular Rehabilitation. Leslie is accredited with the Arthritis Foundation, with a focus in Aquatic Therapy, and has taught a multitude of classes for those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. In addition, Leslie is a Certified Personal Trainer, Levels I and II, from Hofstra University, serving the general population and those with special needs. Leslie's commitment in helping others achieve optimal wellness continues to be founded in the utilization of both evidence-based practices and integrative therapies.
Christopher J. Bux PT, DPRT, MTC, OCS, CMTPT, CSCS, FAAOMPT
Christopher J. Bux is a renowned orthopedic manual physical therapist who is both board certified in orthopedics (OCS) and fellowship trained in orthopedic manual physical therapy by the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) via the University of Chicago at Illinois. Dr. Bux has completed formal training in manual therapy (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine, is a certified manual trigger point therapist (CMTPT) and has done extensive training with trigger point dry needling (not currently offered in NYS). A certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), he has worked with athletes of all age ranges and is certified in personalized blood flow restriction rehabilitation by Owens Recovery Science.
Dr. Bux shares a passion for teaching and has guest lectured in many universities and currently guest lectures at Mercy College. He has mentored in both the HSS orthopedic residency program and the EIM fellowship program. His specialties include the treatment of complex orthopedic conditions, headaches and upper cervical dysfunction, TMJ disorders, shoulder and hip dysfunction, sports injuries, running and martial arts injuries, along with both acute and chronic spinal conditions.
Kathy Graustein, PT, GCS
Kathy, a board-certified Geriatric Certified Specialist, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977. Her continuing education courses include total knee replacements, hip arthroscopy and total hip replacements, treatment and management of the foot and ankle and the McKenzie approach to cervical and lumbar disorders. In addition to her orthopedic experience, she has worked in acute, sub-acute and home-care settings. Kathy has over 20 years' experience, enjoying the past 16 years with the Orlin & Cohen practice and is the Clinical Supervisor of our Cedarhurst Office located in the Five Towns of Nassau County, Long Island.
Henryk Kielsznia, PT
Henryk is a licensed physical therapist with over 10 years of experience in the USA and 10 years in Poland. He is a graduate of the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, Poland with his master's degree in physical therapy. Henryk's clinical focus lies in spine care, orthopedic rehabilitation and sports injuries. He is certified in the McKenzie Method for the diagnosis and treatment of spinal and peripheral joint disorders. Henryk's manual therapy skills are comprised of a variety of techniques including joint mobilizations, manipulations and neurodynamic retraining. His skills in orthopedic rehabilitation are constantly being refined by participating in orthopedic physical therapy courses. Henryk is a member of American Physical Therapy Association including membership in the orthopedic section.
Bobby Nabeyama, PT, DPT, MS
Bobby received his M.S. and D.P.T. degrees from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons with specialties in advanced orthopedics and pediatrics. He holds a B.S. in psychology and an advanced certificate in applied behavior analysis from Queens College, CUNY, where he conducted postgraduate research following his studies at Columbia University. A national speaker in strength training for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and neuroplasticity, Bobby served as consultant and evaluator for New York City Board of Education agencies. He also served as senior physical therapist and coordinator of education at The Children's Learning Center and United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau County. An adjunct professor at Stony Brook University's clinical doctorate in physical therapy program, he instructed evidence-based practice and the scientific-practitioner model directly to clinicians and students for over a decade. In addition, Bobby is a competitive ultra-marathoner and practices as a strength/conditioning coach for fitness enthusiasts and patients involved in calisthenics, running, and obstacle racing.
Sunita Mathew, DPT
Sunita is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, where she received her doctorate degree in 2004. She has experience working in acute care, hospital-based and outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. She has worked closely with surgeons throughout her career, treating various joint replacements, arthroscopic repairs and injuries. Sunita attends continuing education courses that focus on orthopedic and balance issues.
Francesco Policaro, DPT, ART Provider / Instructor

Frank graduated in 2005 from the New York Institute of Technology with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He is an Active Release Technique full body certified therapist and is also in the Ironman Provider Network. Frank is the Clinical Supervisor of our four physical therapy offices and is currently pursuing his Orthopedic Certified Specialty.
Christopher Clarke BS, PTA, NASM-CES
Chris obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Adelphi University in 2011, where he participated as a collegiate athlete for the men's soccer team. He also received his degree in applied science/physical therapy assistant from Nassau Community College in 2014. Chris is Functional Movement Blade certified from RockTape implementing instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization with tools to enhance performance and improve patient outcome. He is a NASM-certified Corrective Exercise Specialist using a variety of static and dynamic assessments, helping identify muscle imbalances and maintain movement efficiency to avoid injury. He gained valuable orthopedic experience completing clinical affiliations in subacute, outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation settings. He has special interest in chronic/overuse syndromes and postoperative orthopedic conditions.
Christopher McCormack, PTA
A native of Queens, NY, Chris realized his love and enthusiasm for sports early on especially baseball, basketball, football and the martial arts. This passion and interest drove him to pursue a career in rehabilitative medicine. In 2011, he received his Associate of Applied Science as a physical therapist assistant from South University.
Roberta Seltzer, PTA
Roberta graduated in 1996 with an Associate's Degree from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Nassau Community College. Roberta has been an asset to our practice since 1998. Roberta's experience includes aquatic therapy, sports related injuries, myofascial release and strain/counter strain.
Jason Troyer, PTA
Jason began his professional studies majoring in exercise science at Delaware State University. Taking his love for sports, health, and fitness he turned it into his career. He graduated LaGuardia community colleges PTA program in 2015 and has since gained diverse experience in Neuro rebab, Inpatient orthopedics, as well as orthopedic and sports rehab. An Avid fitness enthusiast he is currently pursuing his certified strength and conditioning certificate. He holds a constant and infectious charismatic, enthusiastic, positive attitude that spreads to patients and co-workers alike.
Liffy Varghese, PTA
Liffy received his Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Temple University in 2012. He also received his degree in applied science/physical therapy assistant from Nassau Community College in 2016.
Doris Willis, PTA
Doris graduated from Nassau Community College in 1994 from the Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program. Doris has 19 years of experience in which she has worked in the areas of pediatrics, in-patient care, orthopedics and sports rehab. Her manual therapy experience includes myofascial release, massage and muscle energy techniques.
Judyanne Donohue, ATC
Judyanne graduated from the University of Vermont in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. Judyanne has a National Athletic Trainers Association certification, and is a New York State licensed athletic trainer. She has extensive experience with high school athletic programs as well as being on the medical staff of the New York and Long Island Marathons.
Elizabeth McCarthy, OT, CHT
Elizabeth received her B.S. in Rehabilitation & Disability Studies from Springfield College in 2002 and her M.Ed in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College in 2003. She received her CHT credentials in 2008. Her experience includes a position at Bellevue Hospital Center, a level I trauma center, as a senior OT/Upper Quadrant Specialist. She was also an associate in a private hand practice in NYC specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation for 7 years. While completing her M.Ed, Elizabeth also completed a specialty fieldwork rotation in hand therapy at the Hospital for Special Surgery in the summer of 2003.
Felross Arimas, PT, DPT
Felross attained her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Laguna Northwestern College, Philippines in 1999. She has practiced physical therapy mainly in outpatient orthopedic facilities for nearly two decades. She pursued and attained her transitional doctorate degree in physical therapy from Utica College in 2015. Felross joined Orlin and Cohen’s Massapequa branch in 2017. She continues to attend yearly continuing education courses for evidence-based practice physical therapy to further her skills and knowledge in the field of PT.
Todd Bornfriend, PT
Todd received his Physical Therapy degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1994. He has worked exclusively in outpatient orthopedics and now brings his experience and passion for this patient population to Orlin & Cohen. He continues to take courses on the evaluation and treatment of extremity and spinal disorders.
Jill Byrnes, PT
Jill graduated from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY in 1994. Her experience has been in Outpatient Orthopedics and she has attended many continuing education courses in manual therapy and treatment for knee and shoulder disorders. Jill has worked in the Massapequa office since 2003.
Leonardo D’Onofrio, PT
Leonardo D’Onofrio graduated from Touro College in Manhattan in 2003. Since then, he has spent his career in outpatient orthopedic and sport rehabilitation practices. He loves seeing his patients strive to reach their goals and is in the process of furthering his career with additional certifications in strength and conditioning and orthopedic specialties.
Ruben Gelbin, DPT
Ruben graduated from the University of Hartford in 2008 with his Masters in Physical Therapy. He attained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University in 2012. Ruben is also a Certified Strengthening and Conditioning Specialist. He has worked exclusively in the orthopedic setting and attends yearly conferences on the latest evidence-based orthopedics advancements and research.
Kathleen Brooks, PT, ART Provider/Instructor
Kathleen graduated from Hunter College in 1989 with a B.S. in biomechanics and exercise science. She completed her master’s in physical therapy in 1997 at Mercy College. Kathleen is full body certified In active release technique since 1999. She became an assistant instructor in 2008, and currently teaches two to three courses each year. Kathleen has also worked as a lab TA for the DPT program at Stony Brook in 2015 and 2016. She has worked in our Woodbury office since September 2015.
Angela Hitsous, PT
Angela graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy and completed coursework toward a Master of Science in kinesiology in 1982. She has extensive experience with hospital-based and outpatient orthopedics including joint replacements. She co-owned a community-based private practice for many years. She has attended many continuing education courses including manual therapy, functional exercise, and rehabilitation of the shoulder, hip, knee and spine.
Tatiana Malkina, PT, DPT, COMT, OCS, Fellow in Training
Tatiana graduated from Stony Brook University in 2013 with a doctorate in physical therapy, completing the program with honors. Since graduation, she has become a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). She has taken numerous advanced courses in peripheral and spinal mobilization and in 2016 adopted the title of certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) using the Maitland-Australian approach (MAPS). She recently has had the pleasure of lab assisting for MAPS courses. Tatiana is an advocate of evidence-based practice and in the near future plans to begin working in collaboration with other MAPS faculty and fellows to make contributions toward the profession of physical therapy through clinical research. Tatiana is currently a fellow in training at the MAPS orthopedic manual therapy fellowship program, which is recognized internationally as the highest level of clinical excellence.
Daniel Kulpa, PTA
Daniel graduated from the Nassau Community College PTA program in 2013 and has experience in outpatient, pediatrics (neurological and developmental disorders), and home care. Daniel is FMS-certified, Rocktape-certified and is in the process of gaining Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy (which utilizes trigger point release and muscle energy techniques) through hands-on seminars.
Stacy Oster, MS, OTR/L, CHT
Stacy received her B.S. in occupational science from Ithaca College in 2004 and her M.S. in occupational therapy from Ithaca College in 2005. She became a certified hand therapist (CHT) in 2010. Prior to her current position with Orlin & Cohen, she was a senior OT/CHT at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and has also worked in hand therapy in a private practice setting. Stacy has extensive experience treating orthopedic injuries of the upper extremity and has performed numerous presentations and published many articles related to this subject. Stacy greatly enjoys fabricating orthotics and is an expert in custom orthotic fabrication for the elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand.
