If muscle or nerve pain, tingling or numbness is preventing you from living the life you want, you may be suffering from any number of neurological conditions. Orlin & Cohen’s Imran Wahedna, M.D., F.A.C.P., can help diagnose which one—and begin treatment so you feel better, sooner.
A fellowship-trained neurologist who specializes in treating diseases of the muscles, and nerves of the spines and extremities, Dr. Wahedna often uses our in-house Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Velocities (EMG/NCV) technology to accurately evaluate diseases of the muscle, neuromuscular function, peripheral nerves and nerve roots. This diagnostic tool comprises:
- Electromyography (EMG), which tests muscle activity.
- Nerve conduction velocities (NCV) studies, which record how nerves function and are usually done along with the EMG.
Each test uses electrical stimulation of nerves and muscles, last about one hour and is often the best approach to diagnosing conditions that affect the nerves such as sciatica, neuropathies, myopathies, carpal tunnel syndrome and other nerve entrapments.
