Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group Welcomes Newest Members to Its Growing Practice

Merrick, NY (October 23, 2019) – The Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group, Long Island’s leading orthopedic practice and an affiliate of Northwell Health, is pleased to announce the appointments of Eric A. Putterman, M.D., Dorothy F. Scarpinato, M.D., and Linda A. Martin, M.D., M.P.H. as the newest members of its rapidly expanding practice.

Eric A. Putterman, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist who has researched and published on a number of sports medicine-related topics. Before joining Orlin & Cohen, Dr. Putterman practiced at Premier Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Melville, NY. He is affiliated with Glen Cove Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, Syosset Hospital, and Plainview Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. He holds a license and certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a graduate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He will see patients in the Melville office.

Dorothy F. Scarpinato, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist who has taught and published on a number of sports medicine-related topics, including arthroscopic shoulder management in athletes, ACL injury diagnosis and treatment, and throwing shoulder injury prevention. She is affiliated with Syosset Hospital, Plainview Hospital, and Glen Cove Hospital. She is a member of the New York Orthopedic Society, Nassau Women Physicians Foundation, and American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society. She holds a license from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a graduate of the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She will see patients in the Melville office.

Linda A. Martin, M.D., M.P.H., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist who has taught, presented, and published on a number of sports medicine-related topics, including thrower’s shoulder, arthroscopic surgery, and wrist fracture dislocations. She holds the subspecialty certificate in orthopedic sports medicine, and has treated athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Before joining Orlin & Cohen, Dr. Martin was chief of the department of orthopedics at Waverly Health Center and team physician at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. She is affiliated with Lenox Hill Hospital, Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, Syosset Hospital, Syosset Surgi Center, and Melville Surgery Center. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society. She holds certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a subspecialty certificate in orthopedic sports medicine, and is licensed to practice in New York and Iowa. She will see patients in the Lynbrook and Rockville Centre offices.
