Peter W. Lementowski, M.D. joins Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group

Merrick, NY, July, 2012 – The Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group, the leading private orthopedic practice on Long Island, announced today the addition of Peter W. Lementowski, MD to its elite team of subspecialists. Dr. Lementowski, who joins Orlin & Cohen from the North Shore-LIJ Health System, brings an impressive professional career marked by significant achievements and honors. His medical specialization is hip and knee repair and total joint replacement.

Dr. Lementowski’s practice focuses on providing surgical and non-surgical care to patients with hip and knee ailments, ranging from conservative treatment for osteoarthritis and pain relief injections to arthroscopy and traditional and minimally invasive approaches to joint replacement. He also is one of the region’s leading referral sources for prosthetic infection treatment, revision surgery for prosthetic loosening, failure, instability or fracture, as well as difficult replacements due to congenital bony deformities.

A clinical researcher dedicated to advancing the field of joint replacement surgery, Dr. Lementowski has published articles in several peer-reviewed orthopedic journals.  His research also has been presented at several academic meetings, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ Annual Meeting. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a Member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Dr. Lementowski received his Bachelor of Science from the College of New Jersey and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He performed his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College in Valhalla and his Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Presbyterian Medical Center of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA). He is Board Certified from The American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) and is a licensed physician in both New York and Pennsylvania.
