J. David Hip-Flores, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained joint replacement specialist at Orlin & Cohen. Dr. Hip-Flores has been recognized for his achievements, receiving the Northwell Staten Island University Hospital Service Excellence Award and being named a Top Doctor in the New York metro area for multiple consecutive years.
Dr. Hip-Flores completed his residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he was named Chief Resident of the Year. Following his residency, he refined his expertise with subspecialty training in orthopedic Adult Reconstruction surgery in Baltimore Maryland. He then served as an orthopedic surgeon in the US Army and was deployed with a forward surgical team in Afghanistan.
Dr. Hip-Flores has participated in multiple medical missions to India and Ecuador where he performed complex joint replacement surgery. He is also an instructor of hip and knee replacement surgery for Rutgers Medical School and SUNY Downstate Medical School. Dr. Hip-Flores is a founding team physician at the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement at Staten Island University Hospital. He continues to innovate and teach joint replacement surgery, including minimally invasive techniques and complex revision procedures. His contributions to orthopedic research and education and his leadership in professional organizations underscore his enduring impact on the field.
