As a person who has dealt with osteoarthritis all my life, when the pain began to inhibit my activities about 16 years ago, I realized I needed more help than pain relievers. I bought a treadmill, and that worked for a while—even helped me lose weight. BUT it didn't address the issues of muscle loss and other difficulties I experienced, so I began a course of PT, which I still do for 30 visits a year. But a few years ago I needed more, and began getting the Visco shots. These do help. As an insomniac, it was and is important that I don't have pain during the night—and the Visco shots really helped in this area. These actions and this help from Orlin & Cohen has allowed me to continue to do my housework, my gardening (which is really important to me) and as of this year, continue to enjoy the beach and still swim in the ocean—and of course all activities I engage in outside the home. In other words, because of the help I get from Orlin & Cohen, my life has continued to remain as normal as possible. I have done all these things in order to avoid knee replacements. So FAR so GOOD! By the way, I remember my mom not doing anything about her painful knees besides using OTC pain relievers. I was determined that as I aged, my life would not be as isolated as my mom's was because of her knee pain. I kept to my resolve and have found any and all inconvenience having to do with additional medical appointment has been well worth it. Also, by the way, I have friends who have had to use canes, walkers and even wheelchairs because they have not researched ways to avoid the pain and treatment (and work) that necessitates these implements.
