I had been hit by a car while in the crosswalk running for a bus on Queens Boulevard. The driver of the car hit me on my left leg throwing both my head and left shoulder into a mailbox. While sitting in the waiting room of my primary care physician's office, I began praying asking God to help me find a doctor who was not prejudice; I was reading a health magazine, while in the waiting room of my primary care physician's office, and came across an article about Orlin & Cohen. I wanted a minority doctor; and Dr. Alpesh Shah stood out among other doctors in the article. I called & made an appointment for a second opinion. I was completely blown away by Dr. Shah's wonderful patient / doctor rapport. Because he treated me respectfully during my first visit, I wanted him to be my orthopedic. In addition to performing rotator cuff surgery stemming from the car accident, Dr. Shah also informed me I had loose joints and had xrays show both of my knee caps turned inward - Dr. Shah recommended physical therapy to straighten my knee caps & provided advice for me as a runner with loose joints. To this day, I am forever grateful for and to Dr. Alesha Shah!
