Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group Welcomes Pain Management and Shoulder Specialists

Merrick, NY (Aug 6, 2019) – Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group, Long Island’s leading orthopedic practice, is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Palmieri, D.O. and Gregory C. Mallo, M.D., F.A.A.O.S. pain management and shoulder specialists, respectively. Dr. Palmieri will see patients in the Garden City, Woodbury and Riverhead offices; Dr. Mallo will see patients in the Bohemia and Smithtown offices.

Marco Palmieri is a fellowship-trained pain management specialist who has lectured extensively on a variety of pain medicine topics, including spinal cord and DRG nerve stimulation, among others. He is at the forefront of available interventional pain management techniques and utilizes them to reduce or eliminate medication-based therapies. Before joining Orlin and Cohen in 2019, Dr. Palmieri was the medical director of the Center for Pain Management and the chief of the chronic pain division at Stony Brook University Medical Center, as well as an associate professor at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. He is affiliated with Syosset Hospital in Syosset, NY.

Gregory C. Mallo is a board-certified, fellowship-trained shoulder specialist who has published and presented on a variety of shoulder-related orthopedic topics, including rotator cuff injury, total shoulder arthroplasty, and posterior shoulder pain. Before joining Orlin & Cohen, Dr. Mallo was a shoulder specialist at St. Charles Hospital. Dr. Mallo also previously treated active-duty Navy, Marine, and Special Forces personnel at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune and was deployed in Afghanistan as part of a forward surgical team in 2013.
