Todd Bornfriend, PT
Todd received his Physical Therapy degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1994. He has worked exclusively in outpatient orthopedics and now brings his experience and passion for this patient population to Orlin & Cohen. He continues to take courses on the evaluation and treatment of extremity and spinal disorders.
Kathleen Brooks, PT, ART Provider/Instructor
Kathleen graduated from Hunter College in 1989 with a B.S. in biomechanics, exercise science. She completed her master's in physical therapy in 1997 at Mercy College. She is full-body certified in active release techniques since 1999 and has been an assistant instructor since 2008. She also is a lab TA for the DPT program at Stony Brook. Kathleen has worked in the Woodbury office since September 2015.
Jill Byrnes, PT
Jill graduated from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY in 1994. Her experience has been in Outpatient Orthopedics and she has attended many continuing education courses in manual therapy and treatment for knee and shoulder disorders. Jill has worked in the Massapequa office since 2003.
Barbara Feehan, PT
Barbara graduated with her physical therapy degree from Daemen College in 2000. Most of her experience is in the orthopedic outpatient setting and she also has years of experience with inpatient rehabilitation. Barbara has taken many continuing education courses including manual therapy, neck, back, shoulder and foot.
Ruben Gelbin, DPT
Ruben graduated from the University of Hartford in 2008 with his Masters in Physical Therapy. He attained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University in 2012. Ruben is also a Certified Strengthening and Conditioning Specialist. He has worked exclusively in the orthopedic setting and attends yearly conferences on the latest evidence-based orthopedics advancements and research.
Kathy Graustein, PT, GCS
Kathy, a board-certified Geriatric Certified Specialist, graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977. Her continuing education courses include total knee replacements, hip arthroscopy and total hip replacements, treatment and management of the foot and ankle and the McKenzie approach to cervical and lumbar disorders. In addition to her orthopedic experience, she has worked in acute, sub-acute and home-care settings. Kathy has over 20 years' experience, enjoying the past 16 years with the Orlin & Cohen practice and is the Clinical Supervisor of our Cedarhurst Office located in the Five Towns of Nassau County, Long Island.
Angela Hitsous, PT
Angela graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and completed coursework toward a Master's of Science in Kinesiology in 1982. She has extensive experience with hospital-based and outpatient orthopedics including joint replacements. She co-owned a community-based private practice for many years. She has attended many continuing education courses including manual therapy, functional exercise, and rehabilitation of the shoulder, hip, knee and spine.
David Johanson, DPT
David started his education at Cabrini University and graduated with a B.S. in exercise science and health promotion. He then became an ACE-certified personal trainer while finishing his education at the New York Institute of Technology where he received his doctorate in physical therapy. David's been working in outpatient orthopedic clinics and home care physical therapy since graduation.
Henryk Kielsznia, PT
Henryk Kielsznia is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the USA and 10 years in Poland. He is a graduate from the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, Poland with his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. Henryk's clinical focus lies in spine care, orthopedic rehabilitation and sports injuries. He is certified in the McKenzie Method for the diagnosis and treatment of spinal and peripheral joint disorders. Henryk's manual therapy skills are comprised of a variety of techniques including joint mobilizations and neurodynamcs. He also utilizes PNF techniques and functional rehabilitation methods in his work with the patients.
Jared Kipnis, DPT, COMT
Jared graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook in 2006 with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and in January 2013 obtained the designation as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist from the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). While specializing in spinal and joint mobilization/manipulation, he emphasizes manual therapy and functional exercise as methods to effectively treat patients forming a cohesive team with the patient. He plans to begin lab assisting with MAPS in the near future as well as preparing for a second specialist certification in advanced manual therapy and fellowship training.
Sunita Mathew, DPT
Sunita is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, where she received her doctorate degree in 2004. She has experience working in acute care, hospital-based and outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. She has worked closely with surgeons throughout her career, treating various joint replacements, arthroscopic repairs and injuries. Sunita attends continuing education courses that focus on orthopedic and balance issues.
Brian Musso, PT
Brian graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. His experience has been concentrated in Outpatient Orthopedics and Sports Physical Therapy and he has attended continuing courses in manual therapy, knee and treatment of shoulder disorders. Brian joined the Massapequa office in 2003.
Bobby Nabeyama, PT, DPT, MS
Bobby received his B.S. in psychology and an advanced certificate in applied behavior analysis from Queens College, CUNY. He also holds M.S. and D.P.T. degrees from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons with specialties in advanced orthopedics and pediatrics. A national speaker in strength training for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and neuroplasticity, Bobby currently serves as consultant and evaluator for New York City Board of Education agencies. He also served as senior physical therapist and coordinator of education at The Children's Learning Center and United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau County. An adjunct professor at Stony Brook University's clinical doctorate in physical therapy program, he's taught evidence-based practice and the scientific-practitioner model directly to clinicians and students for over a decade. Bobby also practices as a strength/conditioning coach for fitness enthusiasts involved in running and obstacle racing.
Francesco Policaro, DPT
Frank graduated in 2005 from the New York Institute of Technology with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He is an Active Release Technique full body certified therapist and is also in the Ironman Provider Network. Frank is the Clinical Supervisor of our four physical therapy offices and is currently pursuing his Orthopedic Certified Specialty.

Rosario graduated from the Nassau Community College physical therapy assistant program in 1996. She has 19 years of experience working with orthopedic outpatients, as well as sports rehab and geriatric patients.
Matthew Simms, DPT
Matthew is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology, where he received his B.S. in Science in 2012 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014. Throughout his academic career, Matthew has attended various continuing education courses, such as stretching and foot and ankle rehabilitation. Matthew has experience in outpatient orthopedics, as well as acute and subacute rehabilitation.
Tara Congimi, OTR,CHT
Tara received her M.A. in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College in 1998. She began her career at Montefiore Medical Center, where she gained experience in various specialties of therapy including, vascular, pediatric and orthopedic injuries. In 2005, she earned her Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT). Tara treats a variety of hand & upper extremity conditions ranging from arthritis to complicated injuries and surgeries.
Supreet Lal, OTR
Supreet received both her B.S. and M.S. in occupational therapy from New York Institute of Technology. She completed her rotations in a subacute setting, outpatient setting, and a sports rehabilitation/hand therapy clinic. Supreet's goal is to become a certified hand therapist in the upcoming years and to continue to take continuing education courses in orthopedic hand and elbow conditions.
Elizabeth McCarthy, OT, CHT
Elizabeth received her B.S. in Rehabilitation & Disability Studies from Springfield College in 2002 and her M.Ed in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College in 2003. She received her CHT credentials in 2008. Her experience includes a position at Bellevue Hospital Center, a level I trauma center, as a senior OT/Upper Quadrant Specialist. She was also an associate in a private hand practice in NYC specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation for 7 years. While completing her M.Ed, Elizabeth also completed a specialty fieldwork rotation in hand therapy at the Hospital for Special Surgery in the summer of 2003.
Heather Mitchell, MS, OTR/L
Heather graduated with her bachelor's degree from Springfield College in 2012, with a concentration in psychology and rehabilitation and disabilities studies. She continued to pursue her passion to become an occupational therapist at York College, graduating with her master's in January 2016. She gained experience in a variety of clinical fieldworks in upper extremity rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation and pediatrics. Heather is certified in RockTape functional movement technique (FMT) and is working toward becoming a certified hand therapist (CHT).
Stacy Oster, MS, OTR/L, CHT
Stacy received her B.S. in Occupational Science from Ithaca College in 2004 and her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Ithaca College in 2005. She became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2010. Most recently, she was a senior OT/CHT at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and has also worked in hand therapy in a private practice setting. Stacy has extensive experience treating orthopedic injuries of the upper extremities and has performed numerous presentations and published many articles related to this subject.
Physical Therapy Assistants and Athletic Trainers
Christopher Clarke, PTA
Chris obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Adelphi University in 2011, where he participated as a collegiate athlete for the men's soccer team. He also received his degree in Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant from Nassau Community College in 2014. Chris gained valuable orthopedic experience completing clinical affiliations in subacute, outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation settings. He has special interest in chronic/overuse syndromes and post-operative orthopedic conditions.
Judyanne Donohue, ATC
Judyanne graduated from the University of Vermont in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. Judyanne has a National Athletic Trainers Association certification, and is a New York State licensed athletic trainer. She has extensive experience with high school athletic programs as well as being on the medical staff of the New York and Long Island Marathons.
Daniel Eschrich, PTA
Daniel graduated from Keiser University's PTA program in Sarasota, FL in 2015. He also has an associate degree in sports medicine from Keiser University. He has experience in sports rehabilitation, orthopedics, outpatient care as well as working with geriatric populations.
Daniel Kulpa, PTA
Daniel graduated from the Nassau Community College PTA program in 2013 and has experience in outpatient, pediatrics (neurological and developmental disorders), and home care. Daniel is FMS-certified, Rock Tape-certified and is in the process of gaining Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy (which utilizes trigger point release and muscle energy techniques) through Hands-On Seminars.
Chris McCormick, PTA
A native of Queens, NY, Chris realized his love and enthusiasm for sports early on especially baseball, basketball, football and the martial arts. This passion and interest drove him to pursue a career in rehabilitative medicine. In 2011, he received his Associate of Applied Science as a physical therapist assistant from South University.
Karen Prikios, PTA
Karen Prikios worked as an early childhood development teacher and was certified as a group fitness instructor before graduating from Suffolk Community College's physical therapist assistant program in 2012. Karen began her career working in an inpatient head injury unit specializing in stroke rehab and other traumatic brain injuries. She also has experience working with pre- and postsurgical orthopedic conditions as well as cardiac and geriatric rehabilitation in both outpatient and sub-acute settings. She employs a variety of manual techniques including soft and deep tissue massage and myofascial release and has been with Orlin and Cohen since 2013.
Rosario Riccabene, PTA
Rosario graduated from the Nassau Community College Physical Therapy Assistant Program in 1996. She has 19 years of experience working with orthopedic outpatients, as well as sports rehab and geriatric patients.
Roberta Seltzer, PTA
Roberta graduated in 1996 with an Associate's Degree from the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Nassau Community College. Roberta has been an asset to our practice since 1998. Roberta's experience includes aquatic therapy, sports related injuries, myofascial release and strain/counter strain.
Liffy Varghese, PTA
Liffy received his Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Temple University in 2012. He also received his degree in applied science/physical therapy assistant from Nassau Community College in 2016.
Doris Willis, PTA
Doris graduated from Nassau Community College in 1994 from the Applied Science/Physical Therapy Assistant program. Doris has 19 years of experience in which she has worked in the areas of pediatrics, in-patient care, orthopedics and sports rehab. Her manual therapy experience includes myofascial release, massage and muscle energy techniques.
